“Just recently, a Google CEO presented a new Google Assistant powered by Duplex Artificial Intelligence Technology, making lifelike phone calls. Those of you, who have seen and heard the phone calls, where the other side could not distinguish human from a chatbot - you either considered it amazing or scary. No matter what your position is, it is certainly transformative. However, AI is much more than chatbots. The technology is transforming the entire industries from robotics and medical imaging to marketing, commerce, finance and, of course, IT & manufacturing, “ adds Peter Kolesár.

Many national and international experts discussed the key challenges in using the potential of Artificial Intelligence for the benefit of the Slovak economy and society. Several of AmCham Slovakia members are at the forefront of AI research and are investing in technologies that will transform people’s lives.

AmCham Slovakia, within the newly formed AI-SK Platform (Artificial Intelligence Platform in Slovakia) cooperates closely with experts from the business, academia and government in order to define a common path forward to accelerate the growth of knowledge and technologies in the field of AI.

„In the last ten years, Artificial Intelligence has changed the world in sweeping ways and without a doubt, it will have broad implications on the competitiveness as well as the socio-economic development of Slovakia. The AI-SK platform will discuss the AI challenges and ways how to build trust in AI systems by adopting a responsible approach towards daily use,“ says Petra Zappe, Coordinator of AI-SK Platform in AmCham Slovakia.

A creative open mind will prove to be a big asset in the near future, as technology advances and we continue to experiment with using AI to solve the problems we face today. It’s becoming clear that AI is at the very core of what will shape the future of our economy in the years to come. It is now up to all of us – business community, academia and, policymakers to actively shape how Slovakia will respond to this challenge.
