Family winter paradise - Bachledka Ski & Sun

A rapidly developing ski resort in the Goral region.

Open year-round, the family mountain resort Bachledka Ski & Sun is located just 30 km north of the city of Poprad (which contains an airport and an international LeoExpress line, available since December 1, 2019). This simplifies transportation on the Krakow Airport - Ždiar - Poprad - Liptovský Mikuláš route. As a result, it has never been easier to get to this picturesque resort, which is currently undergoing major changes. The ski resort has implemented a number of projects that address the challenges of sustainable development and raise the standards and comfort of visitors, such as wheelchair accessibility.

In the winter, the resort guarantees great snow conditions. Of the resort’s 8 km of ski slopes, 6.7 km are made with artificial snow. Visitors can take advantage of the new 10-seat Gondola Bachledka cable car, which takes them comfortably and safely from Bachledova valley to the top of Spišská Magura in just six minutes. Skiing available in three interconnected valleys, a four-chair lift Jezersko and five other ski lifts are added perks.

Bachledka Ski & Sun is a member of the TatrySuperSki group, which is comprised of 17 ski resorts in Slovakia and Poland. With just one ski pass, you can ski in two countries on 91 ski slopes, acquainting yourself with the spectacular nature and culture of two different nations during your winter holidays. A free ski bus service, which runs round the clock during the day, collecting skiers from nearby villages such as Jezersko and Ždiar, is also available at the resort. For those who choose to travel to the resort by car, there are available parking lots with a capacity of 1,000 places and other parking lots in the surrounding villages, from which you can use our shuttle bus services.

The first snow has already been seen in the Goral region, but the real winter is yet to come. The ski season is about to start in mid-December. Visitors can look forward to a grand opening of a new restaurant PANORAMA, which will be fully available with various services in the 2019/2020 winter season. PANORAMA fulfills the expectations of even the most demanding customers and offers comfort for everyone. In addition to a scrumptious gastronomic experience, it also offers cultural, leisure and educational facilities for environmental education, a souvenir and regional specialties shop and a café and bar.

The Gondola Bachledka cable car and Treetop walk are wheelchair accessible while the restaurant will be wheelchair-accessible by the winter season. The centre aims to be open and accessible to everyone. Families with children can visit the children's corner inspired by nature and built in line with current baby-friendly standards. Visitors can also look forward to various events for children and the public throughout the year. In fact, St. Nicholas is scheduled to visit the resort on December 7, 2019.

Activities offered by the centre not only take into account the needs of its visitors, but also the needs of surrounding nature. The new restaurant is our latest large-scale project. The concept and implementation of the building pays special attention to its natural surroundings. The result? A unique concept that meets the basic criteria of sustainable development. The centre focuses on environmental issues and takes further steps in waste separation, the use of alternative materials in gastronomic facilities, the ban on plastic materials, etc. The resort also organises an Earth Day event, during which the staff, willing visitors and nature-lovers clean the surrounding forests and plant trees.

What is new this winter season? We are opening the largest children's winter resort in the area with a ski school and fun attractions. In addition to the ski school with professional instructors, a lot of fun methodical aids, a fairy-tale ski track, a snowcamp with a baby-sitting facility, and fun attractions such as a miniature carousel, bobsleighing and snowtubing await our youngest visitors.

Groomed slopes, night skiing, ski equipment rental, a ski service, free parking and a ski bus are a matter of course. There are also services and activities for non-skiers, too, such as a 2.5 km bobsleigh track, an illuminated ice rink in Jezersko, 20 km of cross-country trails and a wellness centre directly on the slope.

You will be enchanted by the panoramic view of the snowy Belianske Tatras. You can enjoy the view of the Belianske Tatras from the Treetops walk, which elavates visitors to a height of 24 metres via a gradual climb. The Treetops walk also includes a 32-meter-high lookout tower with a slide and an adrenaline net on the top.

High standard facilites are among the resort’s priorities. The cash registers, information centre, toilets and shops in Bachledova Valley are now being renovated to provide visitors with quality services, wheelchair access and top-notch baby standards.

The Goral region is the right place to experience a special winter holiday. Taste Goral recipes and enjoy the spectauclar views and unforgettable wintertime adventure. In the surroundings you will find various types of accommodation tailored to your preferences. You can choose between a luxury hotel, family-run guesthouse or stylish cottage. In the Goral region and its three valleys, a perfect winter experience is guaranteed.
